In honor of International Women's Day being yesterday I wanted to share my thoughts on entrepreneurship. More importantly, the topic of support. I guess let's grab a microscope and take a peek at the support an entrepreneur receives once they make the "big announcement".
I came into this game in 2017 at 22 when I stepped up to build The Vault Music Studio with my now husband, Tyler. I had a full time job offer with a big 4 accounting firm upon graduating with my Master's in 2018, but once I graduated I knew that sitting behind a desk crunching numbers for big corporations was simply not where my heart resided. It didn't light me up. It didn't excite me. The only thing that excited me was the financial gains, however I knew those would come with several sacrifices. My family and friends were shocked at my decision to let that job go, I honestly felt like no one supported or understood me, none the less did anyone want to have a nice conversation about my future. My dreams. My aspirations. Flash back to starting The Vault, days of all-nighters, mitigating big changes, initiating strategies, watching our numbers, I realized the ones I loved had warned me about all the wrong things. "You won't get consistent income." "That won't last long." The most painful of all, "Get a REAL job." I have worked my a$$ off over the past 4 years, and even before then. NO being an entrepreneur is not a walk in the park. I know that many would take the comfort and security of a full-time job over this any day. So.. here's to us. The underdogs. The ones counted out. The ones that were whispered about. "Will they make it?" " They must be broke by now." Big question, if you want to know where I am headed.. just ask. Then support. Then repeat that cycle for all the entrepeneurs in your life who constantly feel unsupported by the ones they love the most. So to answer if I will ever get a REAL job? Nope. I'm still here. I will make it. I will fight with everything I've got to help my fellow small biz owners start and scale their businesses. I am not in this for the money, I am in it to change the world. Grab a seat, pick your popcorn toppings and a drink. I am not going anywhere, and neither are you. This world is OURS. Our future is in OUR HANDS. Let's get to building. Love you all tremendously, we can and will make an impact with our businesses, now is never the time go give in to comfort. Your Biz Coach Gabby B.
